Behind every accomplished executive lies a set of formative years that shaped their outlook long before the headlines arrived. For Christopher Ridgeway New Orleans business leader, that foundation was built on a combination of formal education, international exposure, and hands-on industry experience that together prepared him for a two-decade career in healthcare leadership.
Ridgeway earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Mississippi, a program that gave him the core business acumen he would later apply to building his own companies. But his education didn’t stop at the borders of the United States. Through the University of New Orleans, he pursued studies in International Business Management in Innsbruck, Austria, an experience that broadened his perspective on global commerce and exposed him to different approaches to business strategy and problem-solving.
That academic groundwork paired well with the practical training he received once he entered the workforce. Ridgeway spent his early professional years in sales and sales management roles within the medical device industry, an environment that demanded both technical fluency and strong interpersonal skills. Over roughly two decades in the field, he cultivated a specialized understanding of how devices, diagnostics, and clinical services intersect, knowledge that would later prove essential when he began building his own ventures.
Rather than treating this sales experience as a career endpoint, Ridgeway used it as a launching pad. He established his own medical services-based firm, Stone Biotechnologies, applying lessons learned in the field directly to a business he could shape on his own terms. He then joined a pharmacogenetics laboratory as General Manager, a position that deepened his exposure to molecular diagnostics and laboratory operations at a leadership level. Ridgeway also continued investing in his professional development well after his formal schooling ended. As an active member of YPO Louisiana, he completed YPO’s Healthcare Leadership Academy at Columbia University, sharpening his leadership skills within a peer network of fellow chief executives. This blend of classroom learning, international study, sales-floor experience, and executive education ultimately gave him the well-rounded foundation needed to found Stone Clinical Laboratories and guide it into a respected specialty lab serving facilities nationwide.
